FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I know which HVAC system is right for my business?

Answer

It depends on whether you need to cool specific areas or the entire building, how much ceiling space you have, and your budget. Split systems are ideal for targeted cooling, ducted systems for whole buildings, and VRV/VRF for complex facilities with multiple zones. Talk to us about your space, and we’ll narrow down what makes sense.

What's the difference between split systems and ducted systems?

Answer

Split systems have an outdoor unit connected to one or more indoor units, cooling specific areas. Ducted systems distribute air through ceiling ducts, providing whole-building climate control from a central unit. Split systems offer targeted cooling, and ducted systems cover entire spaces.

Are VRV/VRF systems worth the investment?

Answer

For larger facilities with varying temperature needs across different zones, yes, they are. VRV/VRF systems are more energy efficient and provide precise control. They cost more upfront but typically save on running costs over time. We’ll advise if they make sense for your situation.

Can I upgrade my existing HVAC system?

Answer

Depends on what you currently have and what you’re trying to achieve. Sometimes an upgrade makes sense, sometimes a replacement is more cost-effective. We assess your existing system and give honest advice on the best approach.

How long do commercial HVAC systems typically last?

Answer

With regular maintenance, most commercial systems typically last 10-15 years. VRV/VRF and quality ducted systems can last longer. Poor maintenance or heavy, constant use can significantly shorten that timeframe.

Do larger systems always cost more to run?

Answer

Not necessarily. A properly sized system that matches your space will run more efficiently than an undersized system that constantly runs or an oversized system that cycles on and off. Efficiency depends on matching the right capacity to your actual needs.
